In general women seem to "fall out of love faster" TWICE as quickly as men. (Most divorces initiated by women occur within 3-4 years of marriage... Divorces initiated by men occur within 7-8 years.) Women are MUCH more likely to have "back-up" or "escape plan" in comparison to man. (8-9 TIMES as likely to have "someone in mind" once they separate.) Note: This does not necessarily MEAN the wife is cheating with the "back-up"... she just is emotionally ready to do so if she wants. (These responses were provided under condition of anonymity by women... so probably more honest answers than typically given in such sexuality studies. Well, feelings change. At least she was honest about it, she never lied about it. She just fell out of love, maybe you (both) didn't work on the relationship to maintain it, or maybe it happened for no reason. You can't always control your feelings. A couple I know broke up because the wife woke up one day and didn't feel like she was in love anymore, for no reason really. So after she took time to see if she could get it back- she couldn't- she had to break up
